Me and some former '76 teammates attended practice today and the team looked focused and ready to go.

Looks like I actually won't be able to make it to the game today (it'll be the 9th home game I've missed since 1996). A death in the family means my wife is going to be out of town. I was going to just bring the kids to the game, but my daughter is sick so it wouldn't be a good idea to have her out when it's chilly and past her bedtime.

My dad and I will be cheering from my house watching on ESPN3. For anyone going to the game, cheer loudly, I'll open my dining room window so I can hear the noise from the stadium.

Will do. I'm usually the noisiest one in any section I sit in, so it's not a problem for me.....but boy, do I get some dirty looks from football fans who don't yell. ;)

Jacob Judd nursing sore back (took a knee at Missouri St), but he should be a go for the game. The rest of the oline are healthy. Focus is matching NDSU physically and mentally for 60 minutes.

I really want to see WIU eliminate these lapses (Northern Illinois, Indiana State, Missouri State) where we let teams back in the game or even give up the lead.

Bison is a very lean animal, add the beer and chips and they'll run right through you! Bizun 34-20

So anybody know why we are starting this game at 6:00? Initially I thought 6:00 Ok, with the Bison coming in this will draw interest, probably is getting picked up by ESPN U. However, that does not seem to be the case.

So, what gives with the 6:00 start? 3:00 starts are ideal for October and November.

Right there with you, Tom. Great day to play a FULL 4 quarters of football like we know we're capable of.

The 6pm start was a conspiracy to keep me from running the Fallen Soldier 5k today in Macomb (I will run it "virtually" down at the Bettendorf High School in an hour or so). Just way too much time between race and game for an old guy like me. The Macomb Rescue Squad would have been carrying me out of the stadium on a stretcher given that many hours for my old bones and muscles to tighten up. Here, I have a whirlpool in the hotel to enjoy after my run. Go Necks! Four Quarters for an old dude!

I wondered where you were. I kept looking for a guy in purple camo but didn't see you.

With the weather the way it is today, I think 1 PM would have been best probably (high of about 66-68 and sunny), but it's not like they had any idea what the weather would be when they schedule the games. Still...3 PM would also be ok for October football. Personally, I like the later start games in Aug/Sept (when it's warmer), mid-afternoon in October, then 1 PM in November (when it's colder).
