Here's a pretty good article I found earlier.

Think we'll make this interesting. Trouble will be stopping the run. Melvin might miss/be limited with his "injury" or whatever issue occured between himself and coach at half, but no matter whom it is, it will be tough. Like every year, they have mass up front to move bodies.
They'll be a few guys down on D, but I'm sure with a school like Wisconsin it'll be next man up.
Prediction: Norvell has a solid game and keeps us in it, but they wear us down on the ground. WIS 31 - WIU 21
Wisconsin Game
Here is a good preview of the game... it also says in here that we are getting $450,000 to play against Wisconsin! That is a large chunk of change and should help keep the budget in the green. This is also huge because big pay days means a larger chance at moving forward on the stadium. Essentially this one game just paid for the new video board!

I also read their secondary is not very good or at least it was not last week, hopefully Norvell can pick them apart some what and just make it look like a fight.meganeck wrote:Wisconsin's current starting QB is not very good, if WIU can stop running game, a BIG if, could have a chance at keeping it close by making the QB have to beat you.

What's funny about the last two posts is their qb played in 11 and started 3 games in the secondary last year.
Need Ricketts and Harley to play especially big this week and stuff up holes. Get everyone else to clean up behind them and it could stay close.

A lot of controversy now surrounding the Badger backfield. All signs pointing up in Madtown. Either that or their players and coaches will be taking out all of their frustrations on us. Should be interesting to see how things unfold.
Embrace the pace of the race.
Article about the "pay out" for playing Wisconsin from today's Peoria Journal-Star:

I'm from Northern Illinois originally, and used to get to Madison all the time... a great city and there's always something going on. Tailgating up there could start as early as Friday night, but it sounds like with the WIU Alumni event, we'll have a good contingent up there. My oldest brother is a huge Badgers fan, and would've loved to have met him up there, but I'll be headed to Monticello Sat. afternoon to cover the Macomb HS game.
I would've liked our chances at any potential upset, had Wisconsin won at LSU last weekend. I don't want to say they gave that game away since Western saw first hand in 2003, how hard it is to win in that environment, but I think we'll run into a pack of very angry Badgers on Saturday. I like the idea of our Leathernecks being 100%/full roster. Playing the role of Captain Obvious here, but I expect Coach Nielson to slow the offense down, drain the play cock and keep their offense off the field, and avoid the "big" plays. Keep it w/in 2 TDs at half-time and I could see us hanging in there for awhile.
With their size, team speed, their loss last week... and the fact Wisconsin is a pretty good team, if I were still making predictions in the paper, I'd pick the Badgers to win this one 31-13. Of course, I'd be okay with being wrong & the 'Necks pulling off the upset.

The Wisconsin vs LSU game was played at a neutral site: NRG Stadium (formerly Reliant Stadium) in Houston, Texas. This is the home stadium for the Houston Texans of the NFL.KippJones wrote:I would've liked our chances at any potential upset had Wisconsin won at LSU last weekend. Here are some possible scoring scenarios:
17: Rushing TD, Passing TD, FG
20: Rushing TD, Passing TD, 2 FG
21: Rushing TD, Passing TD, Defense (or an extra Passing/Rushing TD)
We have 4 RB's that we play (either Nikko pounds it in or JC scores on a semi-long play)
Our defense is capable of making big play (maybe a fumble recovery or an INT; if we don't score, maybe it sets up a score)
I also thought their secondary was suspect (Norvell could throw for 2 or more TD's)
A field goal would be a big confidence boost for either Knuffman or Otto.
Here's hoping we can see some trickery on Saturday (Wildcat with Nikko/JC together, Reverse, HB Pass).
