Glad that SXU is off the schedule. Not a productive game any way you look at it. Nothing to gain at all. TTU is a solid OVC addition, not the most competitive team, but still a D1 opponent. Good for local recruiting as well. Perhaps we will get a return game in 2018 from TTU?

Unless we were beyond desperate to make the deal, I'd assume we'll get a return game sometime in the next year or two, preferably 2018, since we know we have a home game vs Montana in 2019.

Just for my own edification, was our game with SXU a guarantee payoff game for them? If so, any idea how much and what it cost us to get out of the contract?

I would guess that it was, but likely not a huge amount. I think that when an FCS plays a non-DI school, they usually pay something in the range of $10k-20k.

Just saw that we've been added to the schedule for South Alabama (FBS, Sun Belt) for September 3, 2022.
USA is located in Mobile, AL and was a founding member of the Sun Belt, although they only added Football in 2009 and became a full FBS member in 2013.
