Not at the top level of for international play, but a good spot to move up. The league he's in is the 3rd Tier in Spain and the weird thing is they can move up to the 2nd Tier if they make the championship. They could also move to the 4th tier if they finish in the bottom 4. Champs from Tier 2 move up to Tier 1.
Anyways, the top Tier (ACB) in Spain is considered one of the best for International opportunities, so if he plays well and his team plays well he could find himself moving towards the top.

Yea, a lot of soccer leagues work the same way...win your tier/division and you can move up...suck and you move down.
