Back when I went to Western, Saga Food Service ran the cafeterias. Saturday nights were "Steak Night". The steaks were grilled outside of the cafeterias. You could smell those steaks all over campus!
They still do stuff like that actually...this is from two days ago:

North Charles does run from the North Quad to Adams and points south. But for years, it was only open for Go West buses. A crossing arm would restrict access to other vehicles.
That was changed a few years back, and the street is now open to all traffic.
Today's newspaper had a legal notice regarding a Sheriff Sale involving Campus Manor Apartments (900 Linden Lane) and the Edison & Pullman Apartments (902 North Charles).

The crossing arm is still there (as of January 3rd). As far as I know, it's still only open for the buses.

This is hardly a surprise and probably should have been done last year. I think housing freshmen by themselves is a bad idea anyway. Tanner and BayHen will basically be put in moth balls until enrollment increases deem that they be reopened. jc
