Essentially, it's a step in the right direction (increase from last year), but for all of higher ed in the state, it's lower (both in actual dollars and in inflation-adjusted dollars) than what higher ed was being funded at in 2000. Back then, state higher ed (total) received $2.152B ($3.719B inflation-adjusted). The proposed 2020 budget has state higher ed receiving $1.919B, just over half (inflation-adjusted) what universities were receiving in 2000.
