So the Necks finished 5-7, but just a little luck would have made them 7-5 with wins over MVFC champions NDst. and Illst. These two wins would have mean't 5-3 in conference! My point is, we were that close to going to the playoffs! jc

Yea, really....two drives...one at the end of each game. If the defense tightened up a bit more and didn't let ISUr get close enough for that FG, and if they stopped NDSU on that last drive like they did pretty much the entire rest of the game...both games would have been tied going into overtime at home in front of decent-sized crowds (unless we'd somehow scored after that).

I'm hoping that next year, with the added experience, we'll win those couple of close games and have a shot at an at-large playoff spot.
