Today's (12/4 6pm CT) game is with Akron who is playing some very good ball this year (wins against Southern Cal and South Carolina) and our chances do not look good on paper. If I were a player, I would be looking forward to this game because it is a chance to play a tough team and that always means an opportunity to challenge myself to step up and improve my own game. Their nickname is the Zips (short for "zippers") which were rubber overshoes made by the BF Goodrich Company and were popular way back in the 1920s and 1930s. At one time in the late 70s (DII) era, Western and Akron both competed in the same Mid-Continent Conference. More recently, they have embarked on a huge $627M campus development project (22 new buildings including a new football stadium) similar to what we saw in Macomb in late 60s and early 70s. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/University_of_Akron) Not sure if @StudentPres and Tommy Bell will be making the trip but it might be a good idea to chat with those folks to see how they are getting things like that done in these tough economic times.

Looks like the video stream is free for us (kudos to the Zips for making this happen):

Wow, the Zips can really shoot. I'm just praying for some improvement over the W&M game.

Hard to enjoy the game with a herky-jerky feed like I have tonight. We are outdueling them at the FT line if that makes a difference.

Same crap keeps replaying over and over. Somehow I missed our last 9 points of the half.

Billy needs to move his office to Currens Hall. He has one heck of a chemistry experiment to work on to put points on the board CONSISTENTLY.

Scott K, it is not the strong second half that is our forte. It is the opponent taking their foot off the gas pedal to even the playing field a bit. That said, I think Akron and W&M both probably make the field of 68.
