About 10 of those 53 wins were against less than stellar competition (e.g. Central Chirstian College of the Bible).ST_Lawson wrote: Wed Feb 26, 2020 8:33 am Numbers update for the masochists in the crowd:
We are now 5-19 overall this season. Barring some miraculous run to end the season, we'll finish with fewer than 8 wins, which will be Coach Wright's worst season and the school's worst since 2010/11 (7-23 under Molinari). If we don't pick up any more wins this season (we're not favored in any of the remaining two games), then we'll be 5-21, which will be our worst record since finishing 3-25 in the first year under Coach Thomas (03/04).
Coach Wright has an overall record of 53-133 (.319) in nearly 6 years.

True, by my count actually 15 wins against Non-DI teams, so it's really like 38-133 (.222) against DI schools.sealhall74 wrote: Wed Feb 26, 2020 8:58 amAbout 10 of those 53 wins were against less than stellar competition (e.g. Central Chirstian College of the Bible).ST_Lawson wrote: Wed Feb 26, 2020 8:33 am Numbers update for the masochists in the crowd:

And we're 20-72 (.217) against conference teams...you know, the ones we're supposed to be roughly "on par" with.

I'm ready for the season to be over and hopefully the announcement of Billy being let go. Ready for a new coach and hopefully some excitement for men's basketball again.ST_Lawson wrote: Wed Feb 26, 2020 9:43 amTrue, by my count actually 15 wins against Non-DI teams, so it's really like 38-133 (.222) against DI schools.sealhall74 wrote: Wed Feb 26, 2020 8:58 amAbout 10 of those 53 wins were against less than stellar competition (e.g. Central Chirstian College of the Bible).ST_Lawson wrote: Wed Feb 26, 2020 8:33 am Numbers update for the masochists in the crowd:

I agree would be nice if most of the guys stick around if there is a coaching change because like I said I feel this roster has some talent. They are definitely better than a 5 win team imo.

That is the biggest change between MO and Billy. Billy generally kept his players around for the long run. Mo would turn them loose in a heartbeat. The only two winning season in this century came in the Mo era so you can take what you want from this tidbit of information.meganeck wrote: Thu Feb 27, 2020 12:08 pmI agree would be nice if most of the guys stick around if there is a coaching change because like I said I feel this roster has some talent. These boys are very athletic. Broad-shouldered as well. Not sure how we can match up with them.

It will be hard. Lots of talent on the bench Go look up Jaeden King on you tube best shooter in Minnesota 3 years in a row. And he sits on the benchvatusay wrote:I just hope wiu can retain certain players.

Mr. King, I will assume you are Jaeden’s father. I can’t help but think (and I may or may not hear murmuring during the games) most of the players parents are fed up with coach wrights inability to coach these talented players, as we all are. How he has lasted this long is a question there is no answer for. Hopefully Jaeden can give WIU another chance and we all get to see him hitting shots next year. There are a lot of people in the community that want this program to succeed.
