Interesting candidates in that list. I guess the first thing that came to my mind was the "Rooney Rule".

The various meetings and open forums start today, with most of the candidate's open campus sessions (meant for students and community members, but open to anyone) going from 4:30 to 5:45.
The full schedules are here: http://wiu.edu/presidential_search/finalists.php
Dr. Abraham is today,
Dr. Ghorashi is tomorrow (Tuesday)
Dr. Short-Thompson is Wednesday
Dr. Michael is Friday
Dr. Shonrock is next Monday (10/26)
and Dr. Huang is the following Wednesday (10/28)
Also, I noticed that Dr. Shonrock, who was formerly the President of the Lindenwood University system in the St. Louis area, received his bachelors and masters degrees here at Western back in the late '70s/early '80s.

Maybe tangentially related. Looking at only in-room amenities, is the Presidential Suite in the Union the BEST "hotel" room in Macomb? If not, where is it? B&B options are allowable.

Do we know what will happen with Dr. Abraham.ST_Lawson wrote: Wed Nov 11, 2020 11:25 am A Board of Trustees meeting has been scheduled for Monday, November 16th to vote on a resolution to name Dr. Guiyou Huang as the 12th president of Western Illinois University: http://www.wiu.edu/board_of_trustees/mi ... 0Book1.pdf

From everything I've heard, his plan is to retire (if he did not get the President's position officially). He was originally hired as Provost, but I think it'd be really hard to go back to that after being the acting/interim president for the last year and a half.leatherneckcountry wrote: Wed Nov 11, 2020 11:59 amDo we know what will happen with Dr. 0Book1.pdf

Can he bring along the dome with him? They apparently want to dismantle it. If it has a few years left in it, why not?
