Biggest change as a result of January 2015 meeting is that the value of an athletic scholarship has been increased to cover cost of personal living expenses (gas for the car, a dozen roses for your sweetheart on Valentines day, etc.) The change was voted in autonomously by the Power 5 conference representatives BUT OTHER DI SCHOOLS CAN OFFER THE ADDITIONAL STIPEND IF THEY CHOOSE TO DO SO.

Huge recruiting advantage to the schools that can offer it. The rich will get richer but isn't that the American way?

I get it to a point. Some of these Power 5 schools have been getting rich for years off players and should give more back, if possible. But yes it does create an extra advantage for these schools that already have advantages.

It's tough for some student athletes on scholarship to still try to live an average college life. My issue comes with those big school athletes complaining about not getting enough to eat, yet have $200+ beats headphones, the newest smart phone, multiple pairs of expensive shoes!!!!!!
