2024 Season

Might be another long season for the softball team, not sure how good any of the teams they played this weekend, but WIU lost all 4. Lost to Butler, UNI, Drake and Northern Illinois. Play UNI again tomorrow.

I think we have to make a move after this year... Coach Goler just isn't it.

A look at Coach Goler's seasons here: 
2023: 9-36 (3-15 in conference)
2022: 8-37 (4-17 in conference)
2021: 16-29 (6-14 in conference)  
Total: 33-102 (13-46 in conference)

i was surprised she was brought back, but I wonder if they wanted to give her a year in the new conference to see how she does.

The softball team did win its game Sunday against UNI, so they are 1-4 now.

Saw that and coach said it was a "Big Win" every win is big for her....

The 2024 Softball season started this weekend at the UNI Dome Classic in Cedar Falls, Iowa.

Western went 1-4 with a win over Northern Iowa and losses to Northern Illinois, Northern Iowa, Butler, and Drake.

Softball will have a weekend series at Arkansas-Pine Bluff starting on Saturday.

The first home game will be on March 16 vs Tennessee Tech.

Western Softball split Sunday's double-header with Arkansas-Pine Bluff:  Losing the 1st game 3-2, and Winning the 2nd game 9-5.

Western is now 2-5 on the season.

The 3-game series will conclude on Monday.  Game time is 11:00 AM.

Western won both games of today's double-header at Mississippi Valley State:  11-1 and 5-1.

Western is now 4-6 on the season.

Western will be at the Velvet Milkman Classic this weekend in Murray, Kentucky.  Western will be playing Toledo (twice), Murray State (twice), and IUPUI.

WIU is now 6-9 on the season, looks like they should pass their win totals of the past 2 year, 8 and 9 wins.
