The Leathernecks got their first conference award since joining the Ohio Valley Conference on Monday as Bella Alvarez was named the conference's player of the week.
Alvarez tallied 10 hits, two doubles, and two home runs, and scored four runs over the weekend.
Western will resume play this weekend in St. Charles, Missouri when the Leathernecks take on Green Bay and Bellarmine in a four-game tournament.
2024 Season
WIU went 3-1 this weekend at the Lindenwood Tournament. 2-0 against Green Bay and 1-1 against Bellarmine.
The Leathernecks are now 9-10 on the season.

Not looking good for Goler, unless she can get things turned around here, I think this has to be her last season.

I agree....also while yes we have 13 wins they have come from some other bad teams, not sure if any of them having a winning record.
Somehow she got named to the USA coaching team, but this is the quote that stood out to me:
"I'm shocked," said Goler of earning the role of coaching the two squads
