The 10 Run Rule is only enforced in the final game of a series apparently. They went all 9 today and lost 16-3.wiu712 wrote: Fri Apr 19, 2024 5:59 pm SIU-Edwardsville won Friday's game 14-1. The game was stopped after the 7th inning via the Ten Run Rule.
Question: Never been to Boyer to see a game. Do they sell any concessions there during a game?
Embrace the pace of the race.
Small concession building that sells soda and candy.
100% agree. Outside of the top hitters in a OVC lineup, get ahead in the count and burn them with smarter pitching. A 6-8 hitter in the lineup does not need a breaking ball when the pitcher is behind in the count 2-1. Throw strikes and make the other squad actually get hits, and utilize a defense. Everything does not have to be strike outs to win games. This team has been, and seems to be about giving up a walk or two, and then the a double/hit happens and things get ugly.bignecks wrote: Fri Apr 19, 2024 5:46 pm Yeah, we're not playing big leaguers. We don't need to maximize break at the cost of control. But since it's what they do in the big leagues it's what everybody else is gonna do.
I know I am an old school idiot that does not be believe 100% in analytics, but old school basics still win games at all levels.

Watched this series broadcasts and besides the bad baseball, something needs to be done with the student announcers. It is bad and embarrassing. Can't imagine what other teams think of it

Western Baseball was trailing SIU-Edwardsville 6-2 going into the bottom of the 9th inning on Sunday.
But Western rallied back scoring 5 runs including a 3-run Walk-Off Home Run by Cesar Franco to win the game 7-6.
Western is now 4-11 in the OVC (last place).
Up next is a Tuesday game at UIUC followed by a 3-game weekend series at Lindenwood.
