If his bio is correct then Davis just coached his 9th All Conference QB in Lamb plus #1 offense in WIU’s new conference. Is it a reality that we lose this guy to FBS as a QB Coach or OC?

I'm worried about this also, I'm sure it wouldn't take much for him to get a job that pays more, so I guess its just does he want to be a head coah or an assistant. Also I'm sure other FCS schools would be interested in him as a head coach that could pay him more. Like the SEMO coach said hopefully WIU steps up and takes care of him.

He might leave,  but I don't see that until after year 3.   I think he has to prove he has what it takes to run a program and one year isn't much.

That's pretty much my take on it too. At least through year 2. If he gets us up to 7 wins next year, then I'll be much more worried about losing him to someone who can pay a lot more.

I hope we don't lose coach... you can tell his strength is on the offensive side of the ball, the way he developed Lamb. wow!!

Since Coach Davis is employed by a Public University his compensation is available to the public.

Does anyone on this board know Coach Davis' terms of contract? I.E Length, base salary, year to year bump ups, incentives for a Six win Season, Incentives for a playoff berth and the such?

I have no Idea, I am guessing he is making 250-300k year one, year four 300-350k probably incentivized  with typical bench marks (winning season, playoff berth, advancement....)  Again I do not know.

Also we need to compare salaries of OVC coaches not MVFC.

Yes not sure 4-8 moves the HC job needle but 30+ points & 400+ yds/game w/potential AA QB opens eyes on the FBS OC front. Hope he sticks it out as we were very competitive with all 4 of the playoff teams we faced minus UTM (big winner today).

I see DC Dan McKeown is no longer listed on the coach page
