Western at Northwestern
Northern Illinois at Maryland

Both games will be televised.  One game will be on their main channel.  The other game will be on one of their alternate channels.

Will the "watch" link on the Goleathernecks page work? It didn't for Peacock, but was hoping it would be watchable tonight. Radio play call is excellent, but it's nice to be able to see the actual action.

Our QB is a big step down from last year

run defense is solid,  pass defense needs work

Northwestern won 42-7

Chris Irvin was 5 of 18 for 27 yards.  0 Touchdowns.  1 Interception.

Carson Carswell 6 of 8 for 52 yards.  1 Touchdown.  0 Interceptions.

Western had 181 Total Yards:  110 Passing.  71 Rushing.

Northwestern had 526 Total Yards:  245 Passing.  281 Rushing.

Interesting, Cason Carswell had a triple double on the hardwood just a few months back. Hope he gets some snaps next week when I can see the game in person.

So our backup QB is a true freshman, don't have a problem with it just interesting that he has beat out the other 2 QBs on our roster. How did Carson look, I didn't see the 2nd half, saw most of the 1st half. Defense looked better after the first 2 drives. Still wasn't impressed with the offense. Once again those were just my 1st half observations.

We lose next week and we should close down the program.....Valpo just lost to D3 Adrian College!!!!

Valpo scored with 1:30 left to take the lead 7-3.  Gave up a TD in under a minute, but had a big gain to get close to field goal range and threw a deep pick.

Western Head Coach Joe Davis was the starting quarterback for Adrian College -- graduating in 2002.

Coach Davis and Coach Fox will dismantle Valparaiso. This game will not be close.  I have been impressed with St. Thomas. St. Thomas Will be in the MVC within two years.
