Also i remember a post game show where Coach explained how Ryan Myers got poached from us by Western Kentucky because we couldn’t offer what they could..so obviously some people can pay and some can’t..(yes I know that’s a whole different conference)..just another excuse on my part I guess.

Again, I see what you are saying, but it's time to start thinking outside the box.  There needs to be some kind of fund for ALL athletics, and that can take smaller amounts of $$$ from individuals rather than having a business "register". That seems to be cutting off potential donors who don't have tons of cash to lay out (think Caitlyn Clark and HyVee). I understand the school is not supposed to have a finger in the pie, so to speak, but some organization needs to take this on (to keep it above board), and take any contributions and distribute them as the donors wish. Anyway, that's how it sounds to me. We do have local businesses that support athletics, but there needs to be some way to be able to pool the resources instead of the layout they have, where you "pick" an athlete to support - make it so we can support the team instead of just one individual. Just my opinion.

I agree, what they have now about supporting an individual student athlete is not something I'm interested in. I would rather donate to a fund and the coach can dole out the money as he sees fit to attract players, either a transfer or a high school kid.

Looks like the Northern Michigan coach is going to NIU
