Down 37-33 at halftime, the Leathernecks have come back outscoring Eastern 23-11 so far in the second half. Up 56-48 with 11:45 left in the game.

Western outscored Eastern Illinois 50-26 in the second half to win the game by 20: 83-63.

J.C. Fuller had 29 points. Garret Covington had 26 points.

Attendance at Eastern Illinois was 869.

Eastern Illinois had 1,438 for their afternoon football game with Eastern Kentucky. Eastern Illinois won that game 21-7.

Another good win. The Summit leagues has been doing a descent job overall of winning some nonconference games.

I don't know what they are feeding our kids, but both men and women are shooting the ball incredibly well right now. As a coach, you probably know that it will come and go. When it is not there, they pick up the pace defensively. When offense feeds off defense or vice versa, any team is tough to beat.
