The most junior program in the MVFC and the most losing program in the MVFC staged and outright frontal assault on a charter University in the Conference that Patty V. Oversees.
This is what I piece together so far......USD was desperate for an invite to Summit/MVFC, They got an invite and they couldn't compete.....epic embarrassment. USD decides we will just steal from a Storied Charter member everything down to the linemen sleds... Illinois is in distress, I feel like WIU should have received some protection......any protection, from the authoritative entities that manage and operate the MVFC.... Western is a storied porgram.......so the Valley votes in the USD that had an abysmal record...and after a few years decide we will just poach/steal/hijack the entire Western Illinois University Program.
USD does not belong in the MVFC they do not pass the minnimum standards of decency and ethics. Decency and Ethics are part of what higher education is supposed to impart upon the student body.
USD.....was beyond bad.......so bad.......so very bad.....they sold their collective soul and said we will break the unsaid laws and steal.....we will pay through the teeth.
If I were a USD alum I would be embarased. Second fiddle to SDSU...and cant get your shit right so you have to steal from your family. Sounds like a Meth addict.

Nomination for the Post of the Year.
Step away from the ledge

Step away from the ledge
Can we maybe drop the USD bashing? They had a better offer that we couldn't match and he accepted it. That's it. It's a business and he made the decision that made the most financial sense for him.
Is taking a fellow conference member's coach something that's frowned upon? Sure...it's kinda like a "gentleman's agreement"...it's just understood that you're not supposed to do that.
So is running up the score on a team...but that happens sometimes too. There's no hard rule against either.
USD didn't break any rules, they did what they thought was best for their football program. Yes, their football team had been somewhat struggling (although less this year than in years past), but they're excellent in many of the other sports. Last year they finished second in the Commissioner's cup race behind SDSU.
I'm pretty sure that Nielson wouldn't have left if there wasn't at least some mutual interest. Nielson wanted out...at some point...maybe not this year specifically, but soon...and he had the opportunity to do it now, so he took it. As for the rest of our coaching staff...we screwed that all up on our own. If we offer jobs to them, we'd have a likely 80%-90% complete coaching staff right now. When that fell through, they had to take whatever opportunity was presented, which will, for many of them, likely be at USD.
What do you want Patty V to do?....penalize USD for doing something that they were entirely allowed to do?
What happened happened...we can't change it now. Complain to the "higher-ups" if you want, but I feel like it's time to move on from this and focus on the future of the program.

Patty V has nothing to do with this. Coach N (correction BOB) could leave now without throwing a dime back to the university. Do you think the folks up in Fargo are that stupid. Go read Klieman's contract. If we had what he has in his contract, Tyler Yelk would be starting at $150K minimum, all thanks to Nielson. Thank you Tommy B and Gary B.
Embrace the pace of the race.

Yep, I agree... if this thread disappeared, it would be fine by me. Sour grapes and a misunderstanding of how modern day collegiate athletics works. Nielson fled for green pastures; SD did nothing wrong. WIU needs to look in the mirror and get its own house in order; pointing fingers outside Macomb is futile and of no benefit to anyone.
