O'Boyle sounds promising. I could never understand what the main benefit of Co-Offensive coordinators was but I am now seeing exactly what it is. O'Boyle was in charge of OLine and Nick Hill the QB down at SIU. When either one needs a job, they can both claim an equal amount of fame for the success and SIU did have one hell of an offense this year.

Very true. And many years before that there was this thing called the holocaust.Neckfansince71 wrote:The individuals in that situation are long gone!jc

With Hecklinski out of the picture, O'Boyle sounds like my top option.
Wiu ties and would stick around, not jump ship at first outside offer.
An exciting offense will put butts on the bleachers too. I bet he could do wonders with McGuire.
Im in.
Im more worried about player retention at this point, them having to wait around probably a month before they know who will be leading them.

What makes everyone think Heck is out of picture? Wouldn't a FCS HC job in the Valley be better than an assistant FBS job? He might apply for this one too and jump ship if offered.

ALL OF THIS ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^Leatherneck57 wrote:Another plus with hiring Bill O'Boyle is that he would bring anther Leatherneck GREAT to his staff...Todd Auer. I talked with both of them at the ISU playoff game and they would love the opportunity to come back to Macomb and they would be here a long time!.
EDIT: Not a response to your question, sealhall. Which is a good one.

We won't have to wait around a month...this will happen quickly with the number of applicants. I've been told within the next 2 weeks.
The players will just have to be patient...they have way too much talent coming back not to stay put and remain positive. This current team is loaded and built to win! Where are they going to go? Down a division? Play lessor competition? Move up and lose a year of eligibility? Most can't afford to do that! I would much rather play the toughest schedule in FCS!!!
If they sit tight they won't be dissappointed. And I can promise you that all we'll be talking about this time next year and after a very successful season is how we kicked The Coyotes and Bob Nielson's ass just like we have the last 3 years!!!
