The new scoreboard portion has been hung for the day. I would expect they will do the video board last to ensure no damage is done while working on something else. Also, looks like video board will be hung low on the bottom portion of the scoreboard which is surprising because I am used to seeing it done opposite. I wonder if they had to do that do to weight and not replacing the I beams in the ground.

Are we still doing the portable video board option and moving it back and forth between Hanson and Western Hall?

Yes it is a removable video board, but they have not yet installed the places to hang it in Western hall. They can also add panels in future to make it larger from my understanding and it appeared that when they install it in Western Hall they were thinking about splitting it and placing two video boards up, one at each the East and West end.

The board appears to be similar in width to last years, but is only half the height which seems like it will make for an odd view. I suppose since they can add tons of panels they could always purchase another row, but I would imagine that would take donors to help out with.

That's like....half of it....right? Shouldn't there be another piece that big attached to the bottom? Is that really supposed to be the whole "board"?

From my understanding that is the whole board. I extremely surprised and confused why they didn't do the whole thing a video board and just have a digital scoreboard that came up during plays on screen

I was on campus Friday night.

The crew was still working on the new scoreboard at 7:30PM.

The video board has been positioned directly below the scoreboard.

The only thing that is missing is a "Hanson Field" sign to go above the scoreboard.

I am sorry but I will be first to say very disappointed in this as they should have at least gone for the full thing after the long wait for updates.

I was out on Hanson Field on Monday and I got a really good look at the scoreboard. I was really struck by it's height and size. I initially wondered if they had welded extensions to the main supports. The photos I have seen do not do it justice! ;) jc
