Anyone been on campus and seen if they have tested the board yet? I am still hoping they will put up a youtube video of them testing the board.

So I guess I should take back everything I said before and a picture does not do the board justice apparently as the board is actually larger is square foot than last years by 21 square foot. The new board is 32 x 10' which makes it 320 square foot and I finally found the article from last years board which was 23' x 13' making it 299 square foot.

See article on last years rental board below.

Someone has posted the sizes of all the video boards in college football (appears to be missing a few in FCS)

My wife and I went to practice last night. A few observations. The video board is very disappointing. Very small. The scoreboard is barely a high school level.

Enjoyed watching practice though. Liked the quicker pace of the offense.

The home bleachers continue to be an embarrassment. I fail to understand why they simply can't at least sand and paint the bleachers. There is debris in front of the stands and the paint is faded and looks very bad. Simple fixes would make it look much better.

I have the same assessment. The wooden bleachers in Sections A, B, F, and G are in very sad shape. Doesn't look like there has been much done to improve those wooden seats.

Was the video board or scoreboard being used during practice?

It would be nice to see them add another 5 foot in the next few years since they supposedly can add on at any time. That would put the board close to 500 SF and would make it seem the right size since right now being 32x10 it is 3 times wider than tall. I think a 2 to 1 ratio of width to height would definitely make it seem a great deal larger.

We all know that living life is a very complex matter of settling between trade-offs. The portability to Western Hall requirement probably had a huge impact on what size and shape to go with.

Speaking of ratios, the only ratio I am worried about is the run/pass ratio. Lets hope the ratio leans a little more toward run than pass and we don't spend a lot of time playing catch-up with the pass.
Embrace the pace of the race.

The scoreboard was being used at Friday night's practice.

So I was thinking that the picture that WIU0812 posted seemed to show a rather smallish looking video board. But then I got to thinking (which can be dangerous) how big is 10'x32' ? I used as reference the room in my house with the longest continuous length wall (kitchen/dinning area) I measured it and it was 26' my walls are 8'6" tall. I stepped back and envisioned something taller and 6' wider and honestly it seemed absolutely enormous.

I guess it all depends upon ones perception. This Scoreboard/Videoboard will be infinitely better than that old worn out piece of garbage that had outstayed its welcome by about a decade. :D

I was just going to say this (ran through the east side of the stadium this evening while they were having a bit of a scrimmage). Not the video part though (not when I was there, anyway), but the numbers and stuff. Well....the lights work at least.
