You mean like a dedicated special teams coach (as opposed to LBs & ST Coach)?

Also, I wonder if the two former Leatherneck coaches that were on staff last year had some input into Coach Stockton's move here?
Here's Stockton's profile on UConn's football site: http://www.uconnhuskies.com/sports/m-fo ... 05478.html
And his twitter profile: https://twitter.com/Coach_TsTock

He spent the last two years as a defensive GA at UConn. In addition to playing at Notre Dame, he also has an MBA from there, focusing in corporate finance.

From what I heard he was offered to go to SD but chose not to...didn't care for Vermillion. Don't blame him...not much there!

I don't either...the right competent coach can handle the position with input from the assistants. Game plans are discussed and approved by the head coach. At the end of the day it's a one person job...

Yea, two former Leatherneck coaches on staff at UConn...I'd have to imagine he had at least a brief chat with them about the position.

It depends on your criteria, but by many measures, USD is one of the few FCS schools that is more "remote" than Western (lower population in town, lower population in immediate area...they are closer to an airport and major interstate, but no train service).

When I drove there for a hoops game a couple years back, I was trying to recall an Illinois city/town that it reminded me of. Monmouth was the first one that came to mind but I think Monmouth has more total acreage. Wiki has Vermillion listed at only 4.031 square miles. I found it to be quite quaint.

I've got texts in to Coach P and also Def Backfield Coach at ND Bob Elliott about Stockton.
Tyler Yelk told me. Vermillion was a lot like Macomb except the streets were in better shape...for whatever that's worth! :D

Regarding Tyler Stockton Coach P texted me "Very good young coach...will be high energy..bright..a good communicator..should be an effective recruiter

Bob Elliott texted: "Good guy...smart...will do well"

So it looks like Coach Fisher hit a home run with Stockton!
