We did get outplayed, but we did more than our share of giving it away. Depressing.

Does Lenoir have a problem with his left hand? He was working on it today, and did the same thing the first game against Eastern. I think that's why he dropped that last pass.

We did not play like this was a must win game for us. They did.

YSUs pass defense is probably the best Western has faced yet. That being said, this was Trenton Norvell's worst performance by far this season.

Was that the 4th down run by Nikko? Did it look like he got it over the line on TV? It sure did to me, but I didn't have a straight-line view of it from where I was sitting. It sure looked like he made it past and then the ref put the ball down maybe a yard behind where he got to. That and the penalty on the Lenoir reception that was also called a horse collar tackle on him. We get a better spot on that 4th down or we don't get that penalty and instead get the reception + penalty yards and either one gets us in the red zone and either a FG or TD and either would have got us enough points.

Athletics website says that there were 2610 people there, which sucks, but I guess it's to be expected considering the weather and how hard it is to get students out to games even on the best days.

Defense did pretty well overall considering how much they were asked to do and how many stops they had to make, but other than a couple of drives, offense could get anything going. I understand that their passing defense is very good, but a lot of the problems just seemed to be us making dumb mistakes. Dropped passes, passes overthrown, underthrown. Some of it could have been the wind earlier in the game...was a little bit of that, but not later in the game.

Considering how well Indiana State played against Illinois State (they very nearly won, were leading nearly the whole game until the last minute or so)...we're going to have a hard time against them too if we can't play better than we did today, and that was the other game I thought we could have a good shot at winning....NDSU and SDSU are going to be really tough.

Just a very disappointing performance.

Ok I told myself that I wasn't going to say it because our 'Necks didn't play well but Nikko Watsons 4th down run was good enough for first down. Bull shit spot, that's all there is too it. You can see for your self Scott on the ESPN3 replay

Not specifically related to this game, but we'll at least beat the average attendance of last year, even if nobody shows up to the SDSU game.
Last year we averaged 4,525.3 people per game. Including today's game, we're currently averaging 6,404.5. If attendance is 0 for the SDSU game, we'd still have a 5,123.6 average. It's pretty sad considering we used to pull 10k regularly for nearly every home game (in the recent past...I realize that "back in the day" we'd get 15k+ every game), but it's still an improvement over last year.

The Miller light Commercial, Playoffs, Playoffs, comes to mind when I see a loss like this. Punting did not again help us as we netted less than 30 yards. needs to improve. Lets be honest Youngstown was not a good football team. playing for 6-5 now!!!!
