Here's the games this week in the conference and among our non-conference opponents.
And my preview of them: http://thefcswedge.com/mvfc/mvfc-week-9-preview/
South Dakota State @ Illinois State - 2 PM
Southern Illinois @ Missouri State - 2 PM
Indiana State @ Youngstown State - 3 PM
North Dakota State @ Northern Iowa - 6 PM
I think NDSU @ UNI is the most interesting one. I thought it wouldn't be that close, until UNI found an offense last week, so I'm really curious to see if that game was just a fluke against a bad team, or if they're actually really good and will do well...probably not 61-points "well", but better than they had been...against a very good Bison defense.
Outside our conference:
Eastern Illinois @ Jacksonville State - 2 PM (EIU has dropped a bit, but this could still be huge for playoff positioning)
Northern Arizona has a bye this weekend
Northern Illinois moves into the "weird scheduling" portion of the MAC season, playing at home against Bowling Green this coming Tuesday. Then their next 2 games are on Wednesdays before they finish out their regular season on a Friday evening.

So, here's the final scores for today:
South Dakota State - 21
Illinois State - 38
Not sure what happened here, but I will say that every time I went to pay attention, SDSU was running the ball...which is odd, because they pretty much just don't do that.
Southern Illinois - 35
Missouri State - 38
SIU snatches defeat from the hands of victory, giving up 31 points in the second half.
Indiana State - 10
Youngstown State - 13
ISU led the entire game...all until halfway through the 4th quarter.
North Dakota State - 24
Northern Iowa - 20
Was a close game, but NDSU got a ton of pressure on UNI QB Dunne forcing 4 interceptions.
And the one OOC game going on:
Eastern Illinois - 14
Jacksonville State - 47
JSU is who we thought they were.
South Dakota State - 21

And NIU gets the decisive victory in a game that (sorry NIU fans) probably 5 people were watching, due to the Cubs World Series Game 6 going on. They beat Bowling Green 45-20: http://www.espn.com/college-football/ga ... =400869320NIU#1FBinIL wrote:#MACtionST_Lawson wrote:NIU moves into the "weird scheduling" portion of the MAC season, playing at home against Bowling Green this coming Tuesday. Love the skyline and the "Chicago stars" on the helmets.
The "NIU" in white on the front of the jersey for a black-and-white color scheme (White Sox colors) and the pinstripes and baseball diamond on the sleeves are a nice touch.
