IMHO, we are going to have to win a game or two on the road to secure a spot in the tournament. This one is as good as any on the schedule. The game is at the War Memorial Coliseum. That venue has seen some big draws over the years. Even the old Mid-Continent Conference league tournament was there for a few years back in the early 2000s before Fort Wayne even joined the conference (2007). On the grounds of the Coliseum is the actual anchor from the USS Indiana. See below. Those two things sticking up are called flukes and they dig in to the sea bed. They work as a pair to get the job the done. That is what Billy needs to do with Claar and Arrington. Put em both in or around the paint at the same time. One has some beef and the other has some athleticism. Match them up with the Don bigs accordingly. Not only them, but we will need all hands on deck and ready to go. That same scrappy defense we saw in 2nd half against the Jacks right from the opening tip. Sub frequently to keep the guys fresh.
The biggest drawback of a 4 guard offense seems to be that too many things have to work right to get the W. You have to shoot damn near 50% from the field or your opponent has to have a lot of turnovers or an off-shooting night or whatever. We suck defensively right now ranking about 345 of 350 in the country. Our opponents have an effective FG% of 55% and we only at 48%. That tells me we are giving up way too many points in or near the paint. Both Claar and Arrington have shown that they can put the ball in the hole for us. Why not play them both and let them protect the paint just a bit?

Update. In conference play, we averaging about 8 points deficit in Points in Paint and about 3 points deficit in fast break points per game. That is tough to overcome.
