Week 2 is upon us. In addition to our own opener against Missouri State, here's what else is on the docket.
MVFC Games
2/27 @ 11 AM - Northern Iowa at Youngstown State
2/27 @ 12 PM - North Dakota State at Southern Illinois
2/27 @ 12 PM - South Dakota State at North Dakota
2/27 @ 12 PM - South Dakota at Illinois State
All games except the UNI @ YSU game are listed as being on ESPN+/3
Other Area Teams
2/28 @ 2 PM - Eastern Illinois at Southeast Missouri State (ESPN+)
I think the "Other Area Teams" section this spring is pretty much just going to be whatever EIU is doing. FBS teams did their season in the fall, many DII and DIII teams outright cancelled their seasons. If there's anyone else in the region playing football beyond the HS level, let me know.

I also noticed that Knox College has 2 games listed on their "2020 Football Schedule" that appear to be happening this spring, although I'm not 100% sure on that: https://prairiefire.knox.edu/sports/football/schedule

Outside of the disappointing finish to our own game against MSU, there were some surprises around the conference today.
To start with, SIU ended NDSU's winning streak at 39 games...embarrassing the Bison 38-14.
North Dakota upset South Dakota State 28-17 to bring the Hawks to 2-0 in their first year in the MVFC.
Sounds like YSU's defense is actually pretty decent, but their offense is absolutely horrible. They got shut out by UNI, 21-0 today.
And Illinois State lost to the only team we beat in 2019, with South Dakota beating the Redbirds 27-20.

Wonder when the last time and FCS opponent put the Bison in there place that bad.
Sure didn't look like the NDSU I'm used to seeing. Almost looked like a practice game for the fall season coming up.leatherneckcountry wrote: Sat Feb 27, 2021 11:17 pm Wonder when the last time and FCS opponent put the Bison in there place that bad.
