Northern Illinois just unveiled plans for some pretty nice athletic facilities improvements, including a pretty serious stadium expansion:

They're saying it'll be privately funded, but there's no timeline at this point, so really it could be along the same lines as our Master Plan document and some of these things could still be decades out.
Still, I always enjoy looking at renderings of cool new stadiums upgrades.

Didn't Tommy Bell mention that WIU was working on a Athletics Master Plan? Wonder when that will be unveiled?

Like most of these things, it would be much more appropriately called a "Master Bucket List" rather than "Plan". Interesting that they are going to put a ring around the Convocation Center to better handle foot traffic inside the arena. That building is not near as old as Western Hall, but when all is said and done, we might be forced to do likewise with a renovation instead of a whole new arena.
Embrace the pace of the race.

As of right now they are basically right on schedule of the current master plan for the whole school which is great. The biggest hurdle is maintaining that state funding and continuing to grow. The school has done a great job and if you get a chance take a look at the master plan and check off everythign that has been done it is pretty amazing. Basically once the ground breaks on the CPA phase I will be complete and they have already started on Phase II. I really like how things have gone and the new medians they just put in basically match the master plans ideas.
