Game Notes
Western Illinois
Indiana State
History: WIU and INSU have played 42 times going back to 1967. WIU leads the series 26-16, although lost last year's matchup 15-13. Before that, WIU had won 5 in a row against the Sycamores.
WIU in 2018 - 5-6 overall, 5-5 against FCS teams, 4-4 against MVFC teams
WIU in 2019 - 0-5 (0-4 against FCS teams)
INSU in 2018 - 7-4 overall, 5-3 in the MVFC
INSU in 2019 - 2-3 overall, lost to Kansas (24-17) and Dayton (42-35), then beat Eastern Kentucky (19-7) and Eastern Illinois (16-6), before getting shut out at South Dakota (38-0)
Location: Memorial Stadium, Terre Haute, IN
Weather Prediction: Sunny, ~50 degrees with a 0% chance of rain
Odds:
Massey Ratings - 72% chance of INSU win, with a predicted score of 21-14.
Sagarin Ratings - INSU 77% chance of win
This game and possibly the one against SIU are the two remaining games where we have a halfway decent chance at a win (not favored, but not like a 0.01% chance like we have against NDSU). Indiana State was looking a little down from last year's 7-4, but then lost their starting QB, Ryan Boyle, for the season two weekends ago. Boyle was last year's MVFC Newcomer of the Year, was second on the team in rushing (61 ypg) and was a fairly accurate passer...62.44% completions, 12 TDs vs 3 INTs (in 2018).

I've picked the 'Necks to win by 3 the last two games, and it didn't happen.
Even with the loss of ISUb's QB, I don't think we'll pull it out. I honestly don't think we will get a W this season. (I'm hoping my picking against them will reverse the curse that picking them to win has obviously hung on them)

17-10 Sycamores (please prove me wrong Leathernecks)

Its time for the necks to get in the win column. We will have another good chance this weekend at indiana state. The offense and defense need to put together a solid performance. Their is still a lot of football to be played. Get that first win and anything is possible. I will be there cheering on the leathernecks.

Seems like Indiana State has been talking about supporting athletics more for some time. Did you see that they are going to knock down the "Quad" much like WIU which knocked down Wetzel and Higgins for much of the same reasons they are listing. jc
