It’s hard to see on the video but it’s a whole new scoreboard as it’s purple instead of black with some gold trim and much brighter.

Anyone know why they aren't playing any exhibition games, have they done that in the past, do other college teams do this. I know they probably played in a secret scrimmage. Just seems odd, especially since the women played 2 exhibition games

The Monmouth College Men's Basketball coach said that he had been approached about a possible exhibition game. He was all for it and was awaiting the final details (date and time).

Then he received a follow-up message saying that Western was going "in a different direction". So the exhibition game was off.

The Western Men had two exhibition games last year: Knox and Iowa Wesleyan.

Games after the start of regular season for D1 teams against lower division teams which treat those games as exhibition are essentially exhibition games for the D1 team too. Or at least that is my opinion and I am sticking with it. Could very well be that the NCAA sees it that way too but I can't find any supporting documentation. You get two exhibition contests each year. We play a couple of cupcakes (Central Christian and Holy Family).
Embrace the pace of the race.

So, I wonder if it's just a matter of being able to count it towards your W/L record and RPI vs having essentially game-type "practice" to get some experience and try out a few things. I don't know why we'd be concerned with W/L record and RPI, since the league we're in is HIGHLY unlikely to get a NCAA bid beyond the conference tournament winner, but that's just how things look to me.
