Place looks like it is good shape and excellent location. Someone will make it work if the price is right. BTW, going back 40 or 50 years, what was the pub called that was very close to that buiding, same side of street? Had a green exterior IIRC. I think a Jerry somebody owned it but I might be wrong. So many pubs in Macomb were memorable for one reason or another. Pace was a great place to shoot some pool, tournaments on Saturdays. I think it was old hotel building or something. Lots of nooks and crannies to get lost in. Hogs Breath to the north a nice happy hour spot. Sort of reminded me of a drive in back in the days when you got carside food service. It may have been one at one time. It goes on and on. Kids today just dont know what they are missing. Now that I think a little longer, I think his last name was Griffith.ST_Lawson wrote: Thu Mar 04, 2021 8:18 amThat sucks, I really enjoyed the food that I got from there.leatherneckcountry wrote: Thu Mar 04, 2021 12:34 am https://www.mcdonoughvoice.com/story/ne ... Thinking a little harder, the place might have been called "Shoot the Moon" or something like that.
UPDATE: I just saw this virtual pub crawl thing going on. The Ritz rings a bell for me about that pub on E. Carroll. The moon thing must have been one of Dennis Moon's places.

Hearing macomb will be getting a little caesars back in what was the verizon building on west jackson or near the old papa johns.
That is what I've heard as well. Right here, next to the laundromat: https://www.google.com/maps/@40.4588836 ... 312!8i6656leatherneckcountry wrote: Sat Apr 24, 2021 12:47 am Hearing macomb will be getting a little caesars back in what was the verizon building on west jackson or near the old papa johns.
They've been doing quite a bit of work with it the last couple of weeks or so.
Also, noticed that it looks like construction/work has ramped up on the old JC Penney/Dollar General/Stage Sports building that vatusay mentioned a while back. Still don't know what the end goal is for it, but there's something going on there.

Ah, so they're just moving to the other side of town then. Looks like it'll be quite a bit larger of a building...roughly 5-6 times the size of their current building on the west end of town: https://www.google.com/maps/@40.451076, ... 312!8i6656leatherneckcountry wrote: Fri May 21, 2021 7:50 pmhttps://wgem.com/2021/05/21/old-jcpenne ... Anyone venture into the union lately to see how the change over is going?

U-Haul Rental and Storage facility going into old K-Mart location: https://www.mcdonoughvoice.com/story/ne ... 826451002/
Americo owns a U-Haul storage and truck rental dealership in Galesburg and plans to open another facility in Macomb.
Fills up an empty building...large parking lot should work well for parking ~15 trucks (that will likely vary somewhat in number based on usage)...and 10 new jobs is nothing to sneeze at in a town as small as Macomb....the new business would have about 10 employees. He said the parking lot would contain 15 U-Haul trucks for rental.
