Tennessee Tech is currently 4-0 overall and 1-0 in their final season in the OVC. They started off with a 65-0 win over NAIA Cumberland, 45-17 over Chattanooga, 72-14 over non-scholarship Davidson, and 35-8 over conference-mate Tennessee State. At this point, they are, by a fairly wide margin, the top team in the OVC and are likely to be ranked in the top 15 in the FCS in most polls this week. UPDATE - 11th in the STATS FCS Poll.

Western is currently hanging out at the bottom of the conference (along with Charleston Southern and Tennessee State), and while Massey gives us a "coin flip" chance against those two teams...we are at a heavy disadvantage this week at TTU. We are listed as having an 18% chance of winning this game, with a predicted score of 41-24: https://masseyratings.com/game.php?gid=1838003

On the plus side...we're only about a month out from basketball starting up, and our women's team should be exciting to watch with a ton of experience.

Don't know if this will be considered negative or not, but it's something I am interested in. How are we doing injury-wise? If nothing else, I think a lot of kids have gotten playing time - I keep forgetting how many freshmen we do have, and the fact they may be getting their "trial by fire" so to speak if we have a lot of injuries. Sounds like there was a discussion on stupid penalties (as there should have been) and hopefully we will learn from that and do better at keeping tempers in check.

Davis mentions 15-16 freshman getting significant playing time (seems like a lot).  Where is Zolnosky in all this QB rotating?  Is he injured as well?   :?:

I don't know for sure, but I thought he might be #3 in the depth chart. We saw him the week they pulled Irvin and Cason was out for concussion protocol. From what I saw, the kid has wheels, and I liked the way he played. Other than that, I don't know what is going on.

Zolnosky got banged up on a QB run against Valpo and been in street clothes the last few weeks.  Would have been nice to use him on the goal opportunity last week instead of McKay on a designed run.
