Two in a row?!?!...what? After a come from behind victory against Lindenwood, WIU finishes out their home schedule against Southeast Missouri State this coming Saturday. Like us, SEMO is 3-7 overall and 2-4 in the conference. OOC, they lost a FBS game at Arkansas State (42-24), beat North Alabama (30-21), lost at North Dakota State (41-14), then lost their rivalry game against SIU (59-31). Getting into the OVC/BS games, they lost at UT Martin (34-10), beat Tennessee State (28-12), beat Eastern Illinois (42-13), lost at Tennessee Tech (42-23), lost to Charleston Southern (23-17), then lost at Gardner-Webb (27-24).

Comparing common opponents:
We lost to Charleston Southern by 5, they lost by 6.
We lost to UT Martin by 1, they lost by 24.
We lost to Tennessee Tech by 46, they lost by 19.
We beat Tennessee State by 1, they beat them by 16.
We lost to Eastern Illinois by 8, they beat them by 30.
Overall, it looks like we're fairly evenly matched. Their OVC wins were early in the season, with their last three games being losses, meanwhile we've pulled out wins the last two weekends, so if anything, we're trending up, while they have stagnated somewhat.

Massey has us as the #91st team in the FCS (up from #98 last week), while they are 61st. It gives them a 64% chance of a win with a predicted score of 35-28, but I feel like it'll be closer. Seem like more of a 50/50 game that could go either way depending on which way the ball bounces.

Side note - despite the cold weather currently, it's supposed to be partly cloudy with a high of 74 on Saturday. I can't remember a season where I didn't have to bundle up in layers for the last home game or two, so this should be a nice change of pace.

When I listened to their coach on the weekly OVC coaches interviews, it sounded like they were fighting the injury bug like we are. Maybe it was just because they lost their last game, but listening to him, it sounded like we have a better chance to take this one than previously thought. Did anyone else get that feeling?

I’m surprised by how few people are tailgating considering the weather

Me. It says "technical difficulties". So someone that knows what is going on, please keep us informed.

We played well enough to win but IMO, we just abandoned the running game while still within one score.  Knowing that, they pinned their ears back and blitzed almost every play making it tough on Cason.
