WIU - Week 2

Western is now 2-0 with a 108-46 win over Central Methodist (NAIA) and a 78-74 win over SIU-Edwardsville (OVC). SIU-E was picked to win the OVC this year.

Up this week are:

Thursday, November 19 @ 7 PM at the Iowa Hawkeyes in Iowa City. Iowa is 2-0 with wins over North Dakota (83-61) and Tennessee-Martin (62-56). As near as I can tell, the Big 10 only does preseason polls for the top three teams, which Iowa is not listed in, but they are listed at #23 in the Preseason Coaches Poll and #30 in the Others Receiving Votes section of the current AP poll (updated 11/16).

Saturday, November 21 @ 7 PM at home vs Chicago State. Chicago State is currently 0-2 with a loss at Illinois (67-36) and home vs UIC (51-47). Chicago State was picked to finish last in the WAC this season.

Attendance at Western Hall was 543.

There were quite a few people in that group of 543 who had also been at the football game. The football game ended at 6:10 PM. So there was not much time between the two games.

I've had to go to the Fan tab at the top of the Athletics home page to get the Sidearm stats. The link from the schedule gets a 404 error.

Yea, that's the same issue I was having. Kept getting that 404 page. And ESPN is no help for women's games. No score at all until after the game is done, then the first score they sent out with my alert from my ESPN app after the game is over is hilariously wrong (had Chicago State winning something like 52-20). Thankfully I'd already seen the tweet at that point and knew that was incorrect.

I forgot that link from the fans tab was there. I'll have to remember that if there's another issue in the future.

I forgot that link from the fans tab was there. I'll have to remember that if there's another issue in the future.

Can you take care of letting Athletics know about the 404 error. They should be able to fix it. I was sure glad to find the Fan tab link. I like to have the stats available at the games.
