Well that's just not true. Im begging you to watch the product, or in my case echolocate the product. What a ridiculous claim and I once told a bat friend that my mother in law drinks blood.

So you’re going to tell me you’re going to blame five years of failure on referees. The 10 plus kids that have transferred. You have 3 players go talk to the A.D yesterday and more are going today. We won’t know until the end of March. But I can tell you this 7/8 players want out if he stays.

Wow, this is the kind of raucous enthusiasm we need to show up at Western Hall each and every game. Imagine how difficult it is to recruit kids when you really can't even bring them in for a visit when a big game is going on because even then, it is so quiet in Western Hall you can hear the bats squeaking up in the rafters. Sorry, someone gave me the bait for that. If we are not getting some calls our way, maybe it's because we dont have enough fans screaming and putting the heat on the officials.

Billy has had 6 yes 6 not 5 years to get the program competitive in the Summit and we have been bottom-dwellers for the duration. Time to move on.
Embrace the pace of the race.

There were over 5,000 fans in Western Hall just seven years ago (March 2, 2013) when Western beat South Dakota 61-59 to finish the regular season as Co-Champions! The place was very loud on that exciting night.

Yes, I've been there when 7K+ fans were in attendance just for a rivalry game with EIU, not even when a conference championship was up for grabs.
It should be a great home court advantage but the only students who show up now are the band and ROTC because they are expected to be there along with the occasional dance groups which provide the halftime entertainment. If you can't establish a consistent winning expectation, the general student population wil never be there.
Embrace the pace of the race.

So, the final numbers for 6 years of basketball under Coach Wright:
.315 record overall (53-115) and .248 against DI teams.
In the Summit League, .213 (20-74) with 4 last-place finishes and 2 second-to-last place finishes.

This year, .192 overall (5-21), .125 (3-21) against DI schools, and .125 (2-14) in the Summit League.

Out of all DI head coaches, there is now 1 who has a worse record and has been in the position as long as Coach Wright (Coach Tommy Dempsey at Binghamton). There used to be 2, but Coach Russ Pennell was fired from Central Arkansas after going 1-9 to start the season.

Did I miss April fools day?

Yikes.

I just hope we don’t lose too much talent. I’ve heard rumors of some important pieces leavening. Hope that is not the case just like when Ceola Clark was rumored to be leaving after DT was finally let go.

First off...belfry? We don't live in belfries you racist. Echolocation is much better than actual sight, I have the science to back it up. Also it's nighttime bats are nocturnal watch Planet Earth sometime. Go to class sonny boy. Why do we have to be negative all the time. Billy is a good man who deserves another chance to reach the Summit (get it.)
Implying that you live in a belfry might be considered a stereotype/typecasting perhaps you should sign up for an English 101 night class Son.

I agree that Billy Wright is a good man. The time has come for change. Billy needs a fresh start as does Western. Does Western not get the benefit of the doubt from the officials on the court? IDK. Winning programs always get preferential treatment. So yeah perhaps there is some small bias against Western. Let me just say this 3 D-I wins. All of those loses can't be put on the shoulders of biased officiating.

On an unrelated side note 100% true went to the Ophthalmologist today and he indicated I have cataracts in both eyes. I was pretty bummed, my wife didn't seem to care much for some reason. I'm feeling a little more upbeat having happened upon a Bat on a message board tonight that this Echolocation thing might be my next move.....I'll try it tomorrow, worst case scenario it will tick off my wife
Typecasting/Stereotyping in 2020 seriously bruh? English my 3rd language so rude of you to be mean to me about it. I'm sorry about your eyes, maybe donate them to officials because they couldn't possibly be worse than them. There is a bias against Western even if we were good I can guarentee you. I can claw your eyes out if you wish. Never forget though you will merely adopt the dark, I was born into it, molded by it. I didn't see the light until I became of age by then it was nothing to me but blinding. Hopefully you soon will come into the light about Coach Wright.
TheBatofWesternHall, listen It is awfully hard to discern from your Posts if you are looking to be satirical or trying to be taken seriously. My take away is you are looking for something to grab onto to feign being offended.

"Bats in the Belfry" it's a saying, a phrase, a joke of sorts. Also, there is a poster on another board (Lawson knows who I mean) that has been in "Foghorn Leghorn" character for about 20,000 posts and 15 years! So yes I do enjoy roleplaying character posters! keep coming back.

Billy has always seemed like a nice enough guy, but I agree that a change of scenery is likely good for Western and Billy. Hopefully the players at least give his replacement a chance before they do anything drastic and move on. I think we all appreciated our time at Western here on this board. Hopefully this current group of players does as well. It would be nice to see this team under some different direction.
