I won't even bother talking about the defense. But I still see issues with the offensive line. They were limiting us to very few yards every time we attempted a run. Ignore 4.8 yds per carry. A lot of that was the fake punt run (perfectly timed call). If we could get more consistent in running game, Lamb would be even better in the air. Man, was he hitting his targets in that game. Probably the best WIU QB effort I have witnessed in person. Lots of tough sideline routes with pin point accuracy and receivers with good hands. As for the penalties, I think they got a couple "homecoming" calls but that is to be expected. We overcame quite a few of the penalty setbacks. That was good to see. We are making progress.
To me, the difference in game boiled down to chunk plays. We had a lot and they had a lot but theirs were much were bigger as evidenced by them running 32 fewer plays during the game than we did.

Embrace the pace of the race.
Yes, the officiating sucked.meganeck wrote: Sun Oct 27, 2024 10:29 am Turnovers killed them. Apparently there is just something about Lindenwood, hopefully they can break it next year. Anybody that saw the game was the officiating sketchy? BJ and Doc were making it seem like WIU was getting shafted, but then again they seem to always complain about the officials. That is one thing I don't like about listening to them is the constant complaints about the officials.
thanks to everybody for your insight. I didn't see the game and the fumbles were the difference I agree. I was only able to listen to the second half, but I am just glad to see them make such an improvement this season. although as other have stated Defense still has a long way to go.
Looks like ESPN did a bit on our game...in case you're interested in seeing any of that again:

OK, I have a question. I do remember the fumbles that cost us dearly (I actually was at the game), but there was also a penalty in the second half against Lindenwood for roughing the passer, and it was also said they were looking at a targeting call. (Ironically, it was on the same player that was called for targeting in the first half - a Lindenwood player - where the targeting was invalidated). Did they EVER announce on TV the results of that second targeting call? The people I was with (and myself) never heard anything more about it. Generally, there is an announcement as to whether it was/was not targeting, but it seemed like this call just went away. Did the officials just not say anything on the field, or did it just vanish?
